Global recession has affected the Indian companies which are extensively dependent on the US economy. The IT sector & construction are widely affected through the recession. In the recession the main focus of the management is on cost cutting. Where first come cut the unnecessary cost & overheads, then comes minimizing marketing & advertising budget. Finally it comes to media industries that revenue declines & losses occur.
Indian media companies are affecting thru recession because of overall market ad expenditure going down. Especially the big brands are decreasing their ad budgets. The print industry experiencing huge losses & the daily issue is going with fewer advertisements. This leads to employee cutting so that many employees are now jobless. Though in such period media companies should focus on generating revenue from the categories & companies that are not or less affected by recession.
